I have been using Kanbanpad as a personal kanban tool for years now. Last week I’ve got an email from them with this subject:

IMPORTANT: Kanbanpad Is Shutting Down

Shock, horror: They are annoncing that Kanbanpad will be closed in four weeks.
Now I am looking for a replacement or an alternative which cannot be shut down. A replacement which is free and runs on my own notebook, not on the web. For a personal tool, I don’t need it to run on the web.

Dmitry Ivanov has written Portable Kanban, which seems to be what I’m looking for. It is free and I will try it. I’ll report some time later what my experiences are with this tool.

If I don’t like it, maybe I’ll find some alternatives here or here
